The Setup → Locations tab is where you manage your catering sites. These locations appear throughout ReelCount — in the Dashboard, Schedule, and Scanner app.
Creating a Location
Go to Setup → Locations.
Click Create Location.
Fill in the details:
Location name – how the site will be displayed across the project.
Colour – used to identify the site in the calendar.
Background image – displayed on the iPad Scanner (PNG, JPG, or JPEG, minimum 768 × 1024 px).
👉 Here’s the Create Location pop-out:
Editing and Deleting Locations
Each location has a three dots menu where you can:
Edit the location’s details
Delete the location completely
View the location code (used to connect the Scanner app)
⚠️ Warning: Deleting a location also removes all of its reporting data permanently.
Location Backgrounds
The image you upload for a location is shown on the iPad Scanner’s Tap to Start screen. By default, the screen is plain grey — we strongly recommend uploading your own branding or a daily message to make it clear and engaging.
Best Practice for Scanner Setup
Place the iPad on a stable stand so crew can scan themselves easily.
Use the iPad’s Guided Access mode to lock it to the ReelCount app and prevent tampering.
Keep the iPad connected to Wi-Fi — the scanner requires a live internet connection.
For busy sites, you can run multiple iPads with the same location code.
And that’s Location Settings and Customisation — everything you need to get your sites ready for daily use.
