Once the Scanner app is installed, it needs to be connected to a location before it can be used. Each location has its own unique code, generated in the admin portal.
Finding the Location Code
Go to Setup → Locations in the admin portal.
Click the three dots next to a location.
Select View Location Code.
Each code is unique and cannot be changed.
👉 Here’s the three dots menu in the Locations tab showing the option to view the code:
Entering the Code in the App
Open the Scanner app on your iPad.
Enter the location code when prompted.
If the site is online, the Tap to Start screen will appear with the location’s background image.
If the site is offline, you’ll see an error message.
👉 Here’s the code entry screen in the Scanner app:
Using Multiple iPads
You can use the same location code on multiple iPads.
This is useful at busy sites where you want more than one check-in point.
All iPads stay in sync via the internet.
Key Points
Each location has a unique, randomly generated code.
The Scanner app must be online to accept codes.
If the app is closed completely, you may need to re-enter the code.
That’s how to connect the ReelCount Scanner app to a location.
