Connecting the App to a Location

How to link the ReelCount Scanner app to a catering site.

Updated over 2 months ago

Once the Scanner app is installed, it needs to be connected to a location before it can be used. Each location has its own unique code, generated in the admin portal.

Finding the Location Code

  • Go to Setup → Locations in the admin portal.

  • Click the three dots next to a location.

  • Select View Location Code.

  • Each code is unique and cannot be changed.

👉 Here’s the three dots menu in the Locations tab showing the option to view the code:

Entering the Code in the App

  • Open the Scanner app on your iPad.

  • Enter the location code when prompted.

  • If the site is online, the Tap to Start screen will appear with the location’s background image.

  • If the site is offline, you’ll see an error message.

👉 Here’s the code entry screen in the Scanner app:

Using Multiple iPads

  • You can use the same location code on multiple iPads.

  • This is useful at busy sites where you want more than one check-in point.

  • All iPads stay in sync via the internet.

Key Points

  • Each location has a unique, randomly generated code.

  • The Scanner app must be online to accept codes.

  • If the app is closed completely, you may need to re-enter the code.

That’s how to connect the ReelCount Scanner app to a location.
