Departments are managed through the Crew page. Whether a department stays visible depends on whether it still has crew members assigned.
Deleting a Department
If you remove every crew member from a department, the department itself will be deleted automatically.
Once the last member is gone, it disappears from the Crew page and Schedule view.
Tidying Up Units
Departments belong to units (for example, Core or Dailies).
If a department is removed, the unit remains unless you also delete it in Setup → Units.
Empty units are hidden from the Crew page but still appear in the Setup tab, where you can edit or delete them.
