Security is at the heart of ReelCount. The platform has been built to keep your production's information safe, while still being straightforward for crew and admins to use.
Data Protection
- Crew passes contain only the essentials: the crew member's name, their job title, the project name, and a QR code — nothing more.
- This limits what information could be exposed if a pass is lost or shared.
- Crew details in the admin portal are only visible to authorised users on your account.
Encryption and Hosting
- ReelCount is built on Google Firebase, which provides enterprise-level security.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, so personal details remain protected.
- Access to data is strictly controlled, with permissions set by user role.
User Controls
- The account Owner decides who has access through the Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer roles — only the Owner can invite users or change roles.
- Crew passes can be re-sent or revoked at any time from the admin portal.
- Revoked or deleted passes are invalidated across all devices — they immediately stop scanning, and the wallet pass is shown as disabled or void.
Compliance
- ReelCount is fully compliant with UK GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
- Personal data is only kept for as long as necessary, and is permanently deleted after account closure.
- For full details, see our privacy notice.
Key Points
- Passes contain minimal information to protect crew.
- All data is encrypted and securely hosted.
- User roles and permissions give you full control over who can see what.
- ReelCount complies with all UK data protection requirements.
That's how ReelCount keeps your data secure — combining strong technology with practical controls for productions.
